Our team is passionate about supporting Indigenous communities in sharing and preserving their rich cultural heritage. We are a pair of individuals who are committed to building tools that reflect the values and priorities of the communities we serve through digital development, cultural consultants, and as community advocates. Grounded in collaboration and reciprocity, our team works closely with Elders, Knowledge Keepers, and fluent language speakers to ensure the VRLP is authentic, respectful, and impactful.
Avalon Suriano | Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Avalon founded the Virtual Reality Landscapes Platform Inc. in 2023. She has a BA in Anthropology from the University of Victoria where she is currently enrolled in the Indigenous Governance Master’s Program. Her experience with Indigenous communities has highlighted the value in reciprocal relationships with the people and land she resides on. Her relationship building, determination, and valuable problem-solving skills have built the foundation of this platform. Avalon is the community consultant and project manager for VRLP. She grew up and lives on the W̱SÁNEĆ and lək̓ʷəŋən Territory. Avalon is a visitor of German-Sicilian ancestry.
In her spare time, Avalon can be found enjoying time with her family, friends and being out in nature.
Alexander Cavelti | Software Development Manager
Alexander has over a decade of experience in computer renderings and computer science experience, working as the Software Development Manager with VRLP since 2023.
In addition to his work at VRLP, Alexander is the founder and owner of a design and manufacturing company that has shipped worldwide for more than 4 years. Throughout his journey, he has cultivated a strong foundation in both the technical and creative aspects of design, striving to help people connect in meaningful ways.
In his spare time he can be found reading, exploring, or bouldering with friends. Alexander believes technology has the power to change lives, and his goal is always to create opportunities for others to experience while continuing to grow, both as a professional and as an individual.
