What We Do

VRLP prioritizes community engagement and needs assessment by consulting with First Nations to build reciprocal relationships. These consultations aim to understand each community’s unique needs and priorities. Through collaboration with Elders, Knowledge Keepers, and language speakers, VRLP co-develops scripts, virtual tools, and cultural content that reflect the community's perspectives and traditions.

The development of the Virtual Reality Landscapes Platform (VRLP) focuses on research and innovation to meet community-specific goals. This includes designing and customizing the platform to ensure it supports education, public outreach, self-determination, and language revitalization. By prioritizing contextual accuracy, VRLP authentically recreates geographical and cultural landscapes while integrating essential features tailored to the community’s needs.

VRLP ensures successful implementation and ongoing support through comprehensive facilitation efforts. This includes training communities to effectively use the platform and providing resources to maximize its impact. Additionally, VRLP facilitates public access for outreach and education, guided by community consent, and offers continuous technical support to maintain and update the platform as necessary.
